Basketball Recap: Calvert Hall Comes Up Short

Calvert Hall was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They were three points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 53-50 heartbreaker at the hands of the Loyola Blakefield Dons. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Cardinals this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 75-59 back in January.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Loyola Blakefield to victory, but perhaps none more so than Mason Ellison, who posted 18 points. Another player making a difference was Jesse Legree, who had 15 points.

Calvert Hall's loss dropped their record down to 7-11. As for Loyola Blakefield, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 15-13.

Calvert Hall has already played their next match (against Archbishop Spalding), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Loyola Blakefield has already played their next contest, a 69-67 win against Boys Latin on the 3rd.
