Baseball Recap: Waterloo Picks Up Fourth Consecutive Win

Waterloo waltzed into their game on Tuesday with three straight wins... but they left with four. They walked away with a 9-6 win over the Cherokee Indians. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 35-3 on Monday.

Jacob Hart was excellent, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with three runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. He has become a key player for Waterloo: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two runs, but 4-6 otherwise. Levi Jones also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

Waterloo always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .548. That was just more of the same: they've now posted an OBP of .548 or higher in three consecutive matchups.

Waterloo's record now sits at 9-6. As for Cherokee, they are on a 19-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-12.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Waterloo will host Phillips at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Cherokee, they will challenge Tharptown at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Wildcats have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 13.42 runs per game on average), something the Indians will no doubt try to take advantage of.
