Football Recap: Middle Creek Mustangs vs. Pinecrest Patriots        
        
		
             Middle Creek was not able to break out of their rough patch  on Friday as the team picked up their fourth straight  loss. They fell  62-55 to the Pinecrest Patriots. That's two games in a row now that the Mustangs have lost by  exactly seven  points.
 Middle Creek's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was   Hawke Shoenfeld, who threw for 357 yards and six touchdowns while completing 78.4% of his passes. The dominant performance gave  Shoenfeld a new career-high in  rushing yards.  Braylon Stewart was  Shoenfeld's top target, picking up 239 receiving yards and three touchdowns.
 Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Pinecrest to victory, but perhaps none more so than   Zymire Spencer, who rushed for 234 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 12.3 yards per carry. Spencer really tore up the turf  during one magnificent 89-yard run.  Chris Najm was another key player, rushing for 173 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 10.8 yards per carry.
 Middle Creek's loss dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Pinecrest, the  victory was  the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 3-0.
 Middle Creek will have plenty of time to ponder what went wrong as they've got a bye scheduled next week. After, they'll take on Holly Springs at 7:00  p.m.  on September 20th. As for Pinecrest, they will head out to  face off against New Hanover  at 7:00  p.m.  on Friday. Pinecrest has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 157 points over their last three contests.
