Volleyball Recap: Bruton Takes a Loss + How To Watch

Bruton was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They lost 3-0 to the Grafton Clippers. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Panthers of the 3-0 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in October of 2024.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-17, 25-14, 25-15.

Addison Newman paced Bruton's offense, picking up six kills. Newman got some help from Annalise Wood and her ten assists. Finally, Princess Keumajou kept Bruton's defense grounded, leading the team with three blocks.

Allyson Burke was the offensive standout of the match as she had 12 digs. Erica Oh also deserves some recognition as she served her first ace of the season.

Bruton's defeat dropped their record down to 1-7. As for Grafton, their victory was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 8-0.

We've got plenty of inter-region action coming up soon. Bruton will take on rival Poquoson at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Grafton is set to square off against their familiar foe New Kent at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
