Softball Recap: Milan Beats Lake County for Their Third Straight Victory

Milan had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 5 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Tuesday. They blew past the Lake County Falcons 18-2. Considering the Bulldogs have won six games by more than five runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Mia Pearson was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She pitched three innings while giving up just two earned runs but no hits. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two hits in seven consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring three runs and stealing Three bases. while going 2-for-4. The dominant performance gave her a new career-high in stolen bases.

In other batting news, Hailey Williamson was a standout: she scored two runs and stole Two bases. while going 3-for-4. Another player making a difference was Saide Chartrand, who scored two runs while going 2-for-3.

Milan was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .630. They are a perfect 6-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

Milan's record now sits at 7-2. As for Lake County, their defeat was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-3.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Milan will face off against Bradford at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Lake County, they will challenge Obion County at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
