Basketball Recap: Siuslaw Comes Up Short

Siuslaw was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their 13th straight loss. They were outmatched by the Coquille Red Devils and fell 47-14. While losing is never fun, the Vikings can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Oregon basketball rankings (they are ranked 238th, while the Red Devils are ranked 19th).

Siuslaw's defeat dropped their record down to 1-16. As for Coquille, the win (which was their tenth in a row) raised their record to 14-1.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Siuslaw will venture away from home to face off against South Umpqua at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Siuslaw is facing South Umpqua at the right time seeing as South Umpqua is stuck on a six-game losing streak. As for Coquille, they will face off against Glide at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
