Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Sale Creek). They blew past the Berean Academy Eagles, posting a 77-32 win. Given the Panthers' advantage in MaxPreps' Tennessee basketball rankings (they are ranked 182nd, while the Eagles are ranked 410th), the result on Friday wasn't entirely unexpected.

Sale Creek's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Addilynn Hughes led the charge by as she made all 5 shots she took for 14 points and five assists. Hughes is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last four games she's played. Madilynn Ellis was another key player, going 6 for 7 en route to 14 points.

Hughes wasn't the only one working in the assists department: Sale Creek was working as a unit and finished the game with 22 assists. That's the most assists they've posted since the start of last season.

The victory made it two in a row for Sale Creek and bumps their season record up to 14-8. As for Berean Academy, they dropped their record down to 0-7 with the defeat, which was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season.

Sale Creek will venture away from home to face off against Van Buren County at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. Sale Creek has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games. As for Berean Academy, they will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Sale Creek at 6:00 p.m. on February 10th.
