Muncie Central hasn't had much luck against Winchester Community recently, but that could start to change  on Thursday. The Bearcats will host the Golden Falcons  at 5:00  p.m. Muncie Central has given up an average of 22.2  runs per game this season, but Thursday's  game will give them a chance to turn things around.
Muncie Central is headed into Thursday's   game looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their fifth straight game  dating back to last season on Wednesday. They came up short against  Lapel, falling  20-0.
Meanwhile,  winning is always nice, but doing so behind a  season-high score is even better (just ask Winchester Community). Everything went their way against Richmond on Wednesday as they made off with  a  25-2 win. While the Golden Falcons didn't have the best season last year (they finished 10-15), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.
 Cassidi Ruble made a splash while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound,   pitching three innings while giving up just one earned  (and one unearned) run off   five  hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't  given up  more than two  walks in four consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate,  earning one  RBI and two  runs. That's the most  runs  she has posted since back in May of 2024.
 In other batting news,  Ava Lanter was a standout: she went 3-for-4 with two  stolen bases, three  runs,  and four  RBI.  Aviana Ramos was another key player,  going 3-for-4 with two  stolen bases, three  runs,  and four  RBI.
 Winchester Community  kept the outfield on their toes and  finished the game with 14  hits. That's the most  hits they've managed all season.
 Winchester Community has  been performing  well recently as they've  won five of their last six matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 6-2 record  this season. Those  victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as  they  averaged 12.2 runs over those games. As for Muncie Central, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-4.
 Muncie Central might still be hurting after the  19-0 loss they got from Winchester Community  when the teams last played  back in April of 2024.
