Basketball Game Preview: Ventura Cougars vs. San Marcos Royals

The Ventura Cougars will venture away from home to square off against the San Marcos Royals at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, both will really light up the scoreboard.

Last Friday, even if it wasn't a dominant performance, Ventura beat Pacifica 63-59. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Cougars.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for San Marcos, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Wednesday. They secured a 66-62 W over Oxnard on Friday.

San Marcos has also been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 12 of their last 14 games, which provided a nice bump to their 18-6 record this season. As for Ventura, their victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 10-12.

Ventura lost to San Marcos on the road by a decisive 65-49 margin in their previous matchup on January 6th. Can Ventura avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
