Baseball Game Preview: Arcadia Redskins vs. New Riegel Blue Jackets

Arcadia hasn't had much luck against New Riegel recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Redskins will head out on the road to square off against the Blue Jackets at 5:00 p.m. New Riegel took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Arcadia, who comes in off a win.

While Arcadia's victory against Arlington wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Redskins skirted past the Red Devils 3-2. The win continues a trend for the Redskins in their matchups with the Red Devils: they've now won three in a row.

Isaac Stoner made a splash while hitting and pitching. He didn't allow a single earned run while striking out seven over seven innings pitched. That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in April. He was also stellar in the batter's box, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with four stolen bases and one RBI. He has become a key player for Arcadia: the team is 2-1 when he posts at least two stolen bases, but 6-14 otherwise.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Lamarion Tucker, who went 1-for-2 with one run, one double, and one RBI. Parker Keller also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.

Meanwhile, New Riegel didn't have quite enough to beat Hopewell-Loudon on Tuesday and fell 7-5. The Blue Jackets have struggled against the Chieftains recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive lost meeting.

New Riegel's defeat dropped their record down to 14-12. As for Arcadia, their record now sits at 8-15.

Arcadia couldn't quite get it done against New Riegel in their previous meeting back in April as they fell 5-0. Can the Redskins avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
