Volleyball Recap: Abingdon/Avon Tornadoes vs. Knoxville Blue Bullets

Abingdon/Avon had lost seven straight at home dating back to last season, but on Monday they dropped down to 0-12 to make it eight. They took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Knoxville Blue Bullets. The Tornadoes were not able to make up for their defeat to the Blue Bullets from their previous meeting back in September of 2024.

Abingdon/Avon's offense was headlined by Charly Cox and Taylor Hendel, who picked up four kills apiece. They got some help from Vivian Bigger and her seven assists. She was also solid from the service line: she led the team with two aces.

As for Knoxville, they now have a winning record of 7-6. The victory was a breath of fresh air for they as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.

Aubrey Johnston was nothing short of spectacular: she had 17 assists and ten digs. Ally Kavanagh was another key player, getting eight digs.

Abingdon/Avon wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 2-0 win against Bushnell-Prairie City on the 23rd. As for Knoxville, they have also already played their next match, a 2-1 victory against Annawan on the 24th.
