Volleyball Recap: La Porte Comes Up Short

La Porte was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their ninth straight loss dating back to last season. They came up short against the Munster Mustangs, falling 3-0. If the Slicers were looking for revenge after losing 3-1 to the Mustangs when the teams met back in April of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

The match finished with set scores of 25-20, 25-12, 25-9.

Leading Munster to victory were Austin Spain and Paul Harkenrider. Spain had five digs and four aces, while Harkenrider had 13 assists and six digs. Harkenrider is crushing it when it comes to assists: he's posted at least 13 every time he's taken the court this season.

La Porte's defeat dropped their record down to 0-8. As for Munster, the victory snapped their losing streak at three games and leaves them with a 2-3 record.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. La Porte will take on rival Valparaiso at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Munster is set to square off against their familiar foe Illiana Christian at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday.
