It was a good run, but Batesburg-Leesville unfortunately witnessed the end of their six-game winning streak on Thursday. They fell just short of the Aiken Fighting Green Hornets by a score of 5-4. The Panthers were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Fighting Green Hornets earlier this season, when they won 4-1.

Braydon Hallman and Reese Boehnke stepped up to the plate in a big way. Hallman went 2-for-4 with two RBI and one double, while Boehnke got on base in two of his four plate appearances with two runs and one stolen base.

Batesburg-Leesville's loss dropped their record down to 17-5-1. As for Aiken, the win snapped their losing streak at six games and leaves them with a 9-14 record.

Looking ahead, Batesburg-Leesville will face off against Silver Bluff at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The Panthers are facing the Bulldogs at the right time seeing as the Bulldogs are stuck on a five-game losing streak. As for Aiken, they will square off against Gilbert at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. The Indians will roll in looking for their sixth straight victory, something the Fighting Green Hornets surely won't give up without a fight.
