Softball Recap: Nicholas County Takes a Loss

Nicholas County had lost three straight on the road, but on Thursday they dropped their record down to 3-12 to make it four. They lost 11-0 to the Harrison County Thorobreds/Fillies. Having soared to a lofty 13 runs in the game before, the Bluejackets' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

As for Harrison County, the win was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 22-1. The result was nothing new for the Thorobreds/Fillies, who have now won 16 games by seven runs or more so far this season.

For Harrison County's part, Isabella Persinger was a standout: she got on base in all three of her plate appearances with one home run and three RBI. That's the most RBI Persinger has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Lexie Highlander, who went 1-for-2 with one home run and four RBI.

Looking ahead, Nicholas County will challenge Frankfort at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. The Bluejackets' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Panthers have averaged an impressive 6.5 runs per game this season. Harrison County has already played their next match (against Non Varsity Opponent), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
