Preview: Asheboro Blue Comets vs. Uwharrie Charter Eagles
Asheboro has enjoyed the comforts of home their last three games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will take on the Uwharrie Charter Eagles at 11:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Asheboro will be strutting in after a win while Uwharrie Charter will be coming in after a defeat.
Last Tuesday, Asheboro beat Providence Grove 52-44. The victory was just what Asheboro needed coming off of a 59-39 loss in their prior game.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Asheboro to victory, but perhaps none more so than Kimry Comer, who scored 12 points. Another player making a difference was Sion Murrain, who scored 15 points along with seven rebounds and five assists.
Meanwhile, Uwharrie Charter was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Friday as they fell 59-53 to Providence Grove.
Asheboro's win ended a nine-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 1-7. As for Uwharrie Charter, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost four of their last five contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-5 record this season.
Asheboro might still be hurting after the 59-39 defeat they got from Uwharrie Charter in their previous matchup last Friday. Can Asheboro avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
