Baseball Game Preview: Lincolnton Wolves vs. Ashbrook Greenwave

The Lincolnton Wolves will face off against the Ashbrook Greenwave at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Lincolnton will be strutting in after a victory while Ashbrook will be coming in after a defeat.

Lincolnton took a 12-run loss the last time they faced off against Bandys, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. Lincolnton sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 7-6 win over Bandys on Tuesday. The victory was a breath of fresh air for the Wolves as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.

The team relied heavily on Devin Leonard, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two RBI. That's the most hits he has posted since back in March of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Karson Cloninger, who went 2-for-5 with two RBI and one double.

Lincolnton was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .419. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.

Meanwhile, after soaring to 13 runs the game before, Ashbrook was a bit more limited in their match on Tuesday. They came up short against Kings Mountain, falling 12-2.

Ashbrook's defeat dropped their record down to 2-2. As for Lincolnton, their win was their first in the conference, bumping their conference record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 2-4.
