Volleyball Recap: Advance Has No Trouble Against Zalma

Advance won the last time they faced Zalma and things went their way on Thursday too. The Hornets put the hurt on the Bulldogs with a sharp 3-0 victory. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Hornets.

One reason for the win was Advance's just kept getting better, winning each set by more points than the last. The match finished with set scores of 25-7, 25-5, 25-4.

Their offense was headlined by Cashlynn Sturgeon and Olivia Kennedy, who picked up 11 kills apiece. They got some help from Mallory Mayberry and her 16 assists. Emma Eilers controlled things from the service line, finishing with ten aces.

Advance's win bumped their record up to 14-9. As for Zalma, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost 11 of their last 12 contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-14 record this season.

Advance will take on Lindbergh at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Zalma, they will challenge Eagle Ridge Christian at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
