Smith Valley had won four straight games and Dakota Gray did her part to make it five on Saturday. The Smith Valley Bulldogs blew past the Virginia City Muckers 58-27 thanks to Gray, who posted 16 points. Those 16 points gave her a new career-high.

Virginia City's loss came despite strong showings from Kaiya Krum and Scarlett Fava. Krum scored 13 points along with seven steals and five boards, while Fava put up three points. That was a full 48.1% of Virginia City's points, marking the fourth time in a row she's had more than a third of the team's points.

Smith Valley pushed their record up to 13-6 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home. The wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 26.0 points over those games. As for Virginia City, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five contests, which has put a noticeable dent in their 15-9 record this season.

Smith Valley wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 50-15 win against Sierra Sage Academy/Right Of Passage on the 5th. As for Virginia City, they have also already played their next game, a 48-32 defeat against Coleville on the 7th.
