The Central Catholic Buttons will challenge the Eagle Pass Eagles at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The timing is sure in Central Catholic's favor as the squad sits on seven straight wins at home while Eagle Pass has been banged up by five consecutive losses on the road.
Central Catholic's pitching crew heads into the game hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Friday. They blew past Churchill 12-0.

Matthew McClenan made a splash while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only one hit over four innings pitched. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in strikeouts (three). He was also big at the plate, going 1-for-2 with two RBI.
In other batting news, Central Catholic got a massive performance out of Luke Ramos, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Rick Ramirez, who went 2-for-3 with three RBI and one triple.
Central Catholic hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. The team has now struck out at least four batters in five consecutive contests.
Meanwhile, Eagle Pass didn't have quite enough to beat Medina Valley on Friday and fell 4-3.
Aquiles Garcia was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits over six innings pitched. What's more, he gave up only one walk, the fewest he's had since back in February.
At the plate, David Hernandez made the most of his time in the batter's box despite the final result and went a perfect 3-for-3 with one double and one RBI.
Central Catholic's win bumped their record up to 14-7. As for Eagle Pass, their loss dropped their record down to 7-6-2.
Central Catholic skirted past Eagle Pass 5-3 in their previous matchup back in March of 2025. Will the Buttons repeat their success, or do the Eagles have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
