Baseball Game Preview: Long Beach Bearcats vs. West Harrison Hurricanes

For the second straight game, Long Beach will face off against West Harrison. The Bearcats will host the Hurricanes at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Long Beach has three straight victories, West Harrison has 12 straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

Long Beach gave up the first runs last Tuesday, but they didn't let that get them down. They came out on top against West Harrison by a score of 7-2.

Will Brady spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned (and one unearned) run on five hits. He is becoming a predictor of Long Beach's success: when he allows at most one earned run the team is undefeated (and 9-10 when he doesn't).

At the plate, Wayne Ulrich and Aiden Downey did most of the damage at the plate: Ulrich scored two runs while going 2-for-3, while Downey scored a run while going 2-for-4. The dominant performance also gave Downey a new career-high in RBI (three).

Long Beach's win bumped their record up to 13-10. As for West Harrison, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-15.
