Softball Game Preview: Grand Terrace Titans vs. Orange Lutheran Lancers

The Grand Terrace Titans will take on the Orange Lutheran Lancers in a tournament on Wednesday. Grand Terrace will be looking to extend their current six-game winning streak.

Last Friday, Grand Terrace got the win against Muir by a conclusive 13-2. That 11 run margin sets a new team best for the Titans this season.

Meanwhile, while Orange Lutheran put up some runs on Tuesday, the same can't be said for Santa Margarita. The Lancers came out on top against the Eagles by a score of 4-0. The Lancers haven't had any issues with the Eagles recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive victory against them.

Santa Margarita's batters probably weren't too happy with Rylee Silva, who pitched a no hitter and racked up 11 Ks (she gave up a single walk).

On the hitting side, Madelyn Armendariz was excellent, scoring a run while going 2-for-3. What's more, she posted two RBI, the most she's had since back in February. Sierra Nichols also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.

Orange Lutheran pushed their record up to 10-1 with the win, which was their 14th straight at home dating back to last season. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.4 runs on average over those games. As for Grand Terrace, their win bumped their record up to 8-3.

Grand Terrace might still be hurting after the 10-0 defeat they got from Orange Lutheran in their previous meeting back in March of 2022. Can the Titans avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
