Baseball Recap: West Scranton's Losing Streak Snapped at Four Games

West Scranton won the last time they faced Valley View and things went their way on Monday too. The Invaders walked away with a 5-1 victory over the Cougars. The win was some much needed relief for the Invaders as it spelled an end to their four-game losing streak.

Jason Selemba spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned run on three hits.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Mason Lesh, who scored two runs and stole two bases while going 1-for-2. That's the most runs he has posted since back in April of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Cameron Cole, who scored a run while going 1-for-3.

West Scranton's victory was their first in the conference, bumping their conference record up to 1-3 and their overall record up to 2-6. As for Valley View, they have been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-6 record this season.
