Basketball Game Preview: Reynolds Raiders vs. Gresham Gophers

Reynolds is 0-10 against Gresham since January of 2020 but things could change on Friday. The Reynolds Raiders will square off against the Gresham Gophers at 7:30 p.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Reynolds is headed into Friday's match looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their fourth straight game on Tuesday. They might be feeling deja-vu: they lost 84-46 to Nelson, which was the same score (and result) they got the week prior. While losing is never fun, the Raiders can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Oregon basketball rankings (they are ranked 184th, while Nelson are ranked ninth).

Meanwhile, Gresham didn't have quite enough to beat Central Catholic on Tuesday and fell 64-61. The Gophers have struggled against the Rams recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.

Gresham's loss dropped their record down to 4-7. As for Reynolds, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-8.

Reynolds was dealt a bruising 81-49 loss at the hands of Gresham in their previous meeting back in February of 2024. Can Reynolds avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
