Football Game Preview: Loveland Red Wolves vs. Poudre Impalas + How To Watch

The Loveland Red Wolves will venture away from home to take on the Poudre Impalas at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Loveland will aim to continue their five-game streak of scoring more points each matchup than the last.

On Thursday, Loveland blew past Greeley West, posting a 59-14 victory. The Red Wolves might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won three games by 29 points or more this season.

Loveland's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Jackson Gebhardt led the charge by rushing for 136 yards and a pair of TDs while picking up 8.0 yards per carry, and also throwing for 204 yards and two touchdowns while completing 86.7% of his passes. Gebhardt's passing game has become a key predictor of the Red Wolves' success: the team is 3-1 when his passer rating is 100 or higher, but only 1-4 otherwise. Geovanni Peonio was another key back, rushing for 156 yards and three scores while picking up 7.4 yards per carry.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Loveland was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 389 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 169 rushing yards in four consecutive contests.

Meanwhile, Poudre fell victim to Silver Creek and their airtight defense on Friday. They took a blow against the Raptors, falling 31-0. The shutout was out of character for the Impalas seeing as the last time the team failed to score was back in August.

Poudre's defeat dropped their record down to 1-8. As for Loveland, their win bumped their record up to 4-5.

Everything came up roses for Loveland against Poudre when the teams last played back in November of 2024, as the squad secured a 35-0 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Red Wolves since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
