Softball Game Preview: Central Valley Bears vs. Mead Panthers

Central Valley hasn't had much luck against Mead recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Bears will host the Panthers at 4:00 p.m. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.

As a matter of fact, Central Valley put up the most runs they have all season on Monday. They blew past Shadle Park 20-6. The win was some much needed relief for the Bears as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.

Meanwhile, Mead had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 9.3 runs) and they went ahead and made it four on Monday. They came out on top against the Saxons by a score of 17-13.

Mead's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 9-1. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 17.0 runs over those games. As for Central Valley, their victory bumped their record up to 4-6-1.

Central Valley suffered a grim 29-1 defeat to Mead in their previous meeting back in March. Can the Bears avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
