Basketball Recap: Eastern Hills' Victory on Friday Extends Winning Streak to 11

Eastern Hills entered their tilt with Dunbar on Friday with ten consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with 11. They walked away with a 56-43 victory over the Dunbar Wildcats. Given the Highlanders' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 197th, while the Wildcats are ranked 594th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Eastern Hills had a senior duo take command as Messiah Miller went 9 for 22 on his way to 23 points in addition to five rebounds and four steals and Dorian Johnson went 8 of 13 en route to 19 points and eight boards. The contest was Miller's 18th in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Devon Norice, who posted seven points.

Eastern Hills has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 12 of their last 13 matchups, which provided a massive bump to their 17-7 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 66.7 points per game. As for Dunbar, their loss dropped their record down to 11-15.

Eastern Hills is taking a road trip to take on Diamond Hill-Jarvis at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in Eastern Hills' favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last 11 games. As for Dunbar, a feisty cat fight is on tap when the Dunbar Wildcats face off against the Benbrook Bobcats at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Benbrook is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 51.3 points per game this season.
