Basketball Recap: Temple Christian's Win Ends Eight-Game Losing Streak on the Road

Temple Christian won the last time they faced Faith Christian and things went their way on Friday too. The Temple Christian Crusaders snuck past the Faith Christian Warriors with a 50-46 victory.

Emily DeStafano went supernova for Temple Christian, dropping a double-double on 23 points and 21 boards. Alyssa Conner was another key player, putting up 15 points.

Temple Christian smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 24 offensive boards. That's the most offensive rebounds they've managed all season.

Faith Christian's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Lillia Joseph, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 11 rebounds, and Savannah Green, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and 12 boards. Green is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last eight games she's played. Another player making a difference was Ava Glaze, who posted four points.

Temple Christian's win ended an eight-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 3-11. As for Faith Christian, they moved to 6-10 with that defeat, which also ended their three-game winning streak.

Coincidentally, the two teams will both be playing Roanoke Valley Christian the next time they take the court. Faith Christian will head out to face Roanoke Valley Christian at 5:30 p.m. on Monday, while Temple Christian will head out to face them at 5:45 p.m. on Tuesday.
