Recap: Auburn Adventist Falcons vs. Coupeville Wolves

After a string of six wins, the Auburn Adventist Falcons's good fortune finally ran out on Monday. They fell 69-57 to Coupeville. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Auburn Adventist has scored all season.

Auburn Adventist lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Kai Brooks, who scored 21 points. The contest was Brooks' third in a row with at least ten points. Jonathan Russell was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 11 points and ten rebounds.

Auburn Adventist struggled to get the ball back on offense and finished the game with only four offensive rebounds. That's the fewest offensive rebounds they've managed all season.

Auburn Adventist's defeat dropped their record down to 6-1. As for Coupeville, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight contests, which provided a nice bump to their 9-2 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Auburn Adventist won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Muckleshoot Tribal at 7:00 p.m. on January 9th. Muckleshoot Tribal knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past eight contests -- so hopefully Auburn Adventist likes a good challenge. As for Coupeville, they will head out on the road to face off against Orcas Island at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.
