Baseball Recap: North Central Takes a Loss

North Central lost against South Vermillion back in May of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Thunderbirds came up short against the Wildcats, falling 20-10.

Lane Simmons made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs and two RBI. Rylan Cox also deserves some recognition as he got his first hit of the season.

North Central's loss dropped their record down to 2-10. As for South Vermillion, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 9-6 record this season.

North Central will be playing in front of their home fans against Riverton Parke at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. The Thunderbirds' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Panthers have averaged an impressive 8.2 runs per game this season. As for South Vermillion, they are taking a road trip to take on Danville at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday.
