Baseball Recap: Ten Straight Home Victories for Jennings County

While Jennings County put up some runs on Saturday, the same can't be said for Southwestern. The Panthers sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 1-0 victory over the Rebels. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Panthers.

The result came thanks to Alex Brooks's shutout, as he gave up just three hits and racked up six Ks. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances.

Jennings County pushed their record up to 5-3 with the win, which was their tenth straight at home dating back to last season. They've had to fight for that success though, as they only beat their opponents by an average of 3.7 runs across that stretch. As for Southwestern, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-4 record this season.

Jennings County will head out to take on Floyd Central at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Southwestern, they will be playing in front of their home fans against South Ripley at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
