Basketball Recap: Starr's Mill Triumphs

The Starr's Mill Panthers were able to grind out a solid victory over the Carrollton Trojans on Thursday, taking the game 60-49. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Panthers.

Carrollton's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Kamaree Mays, who shot 43% from the field on his way to 20 points and eight rebounds, and Peyton Moore, who almost dropped a double-double with 12 points and nine boards. Casey Mount was another key player, putting up seven points.

Starr's Mill's win bumped their record up to 2-0. As for Carrollton, their defeat was their first of the season and makes their record 2-1.

Looking ahead, Starr's Mill will square off against Tallulah Falls at 1:00 p.m. on the 29th. As for Carrollton, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 53-29 victory against Ola on the 22nd.
