Baseball Recap: New Lothrop Comes Up Short

New Lothrop's last matchup with Owosso could've gone either way, but unfortunately the same can't be said for the pair's game on Wednesday. The Hornets came up short against the Trojans, falling 12-5. The Hornets just can't catch a break and have now endured eight defeats in a row.

Braxton Tallon was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he didn't allow a single earned run over 5.1 innings pitched. He also tossed a walk, which is notable because New Lothrop is 4-2 when he allows at most one walk, but 10-15 otherwise.

New Lothrop's loss dropped their record down to 14-17. As for Owosso, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 22-11.

Looking ahead, New Lothrop will square off against Montrose at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. Owosso does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
