Basketball Recap: Matthew Lebron Key Part of Team Effort in Stallions Win

Banning Lewis Academy lost to Colorado Springs Christian last Friday, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Friday. The Banning Lewis Academy Stallions strolled past the Colorado Springs Christian Lions with points to spare, taking the game 64-45. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Stallions.

Banning Lewis Academy's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Matthew Lebron, who went 8-for-17 on his way to 19 points. Lebron continues to improve, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Jordan Jones, who shot 86% from the field en route to 14 points.

Several Lions players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Sam Salsbery, who went 5-for-8 to rack up 13 points and seven boards. The team also got some help courtesy of Maximiliano Cota-Cordova, who posted 13 points.

Banning Lewis Academy's win bumped their record up to 18-4. As for Colorado Springs Christian, their loss dropped their record down to 11-11.

Banning Lewis Academy didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 71-66 victory against The Vanguard School on the 1st. As for Colorado Springs Christian, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, an 81-68 defeat against St. Mary's on the 1st.
