Basketball Recap: Rockford East Takes a Loss

Rockford East was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They took a blow against the Freeport Pretzels, falling 63-22. The E-Rabs were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 57-12.

When it comes to explaining why Rockford East lost, don't look at Promise Crawford. Despite the final result, she posted 18 points. That's the most points Crawford has posted since back in December of 2023.

Leading Freeport to victory were Aaliyah Martin and Paityn London. Martin dropped a double-double on 23 points and 11 steals, while London dropped a double-double on 19 points and ten steals. The match was London's 17th in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Da'Nesiyah Piggue, who earned four points and six rebounds.

Rockford East's defeat dropped their record down to 2-15. As for Freeport, they pushed their record up to 14-3 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home.
