Baseball Game Preview: Elsinore Tigers vs. Mt. Carmel Sundevils

The Elsinore Tigers will venture away from home to face off against the Mt. Carmel Sundevils at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Elsinore is coming into the contest hot, having won their last eight games.

Elsinore is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Saturday. They never let St. Anthony get on the board and left with a 2-0 win.

Elsinore's victory was truly a team effort as four different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Brody Boyd, who went 2-for-3 with one triple and one run. Robert Gates was another, going 1-for-3 with one triple.

Meanwhile, Mt. Carmel won against Coronado on Tuesday with seven runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Friday. The Sundevils came out on top against San Ysidro by a score of 7-3. The win was familiar territory for the Sundevils, who have now won five matches in a row.

Bryce Miller made a splash while hitting and pitching. He tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up a single walk in four consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with one triple, one stolen base, and one run. That triple was his first of the season.

In other pitching news, Shane Carter looked comfortable as he pitched 3.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off four hits.

Back at the plate, the team relied heavily on Atticus Enriquez, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double. That's the most runs he has posted since back in March. The team also got some help courtesy of Nate Godbold, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

Elsinore pushed their record up to 23-7 with the victory, which was their eighth straight on the road. Those road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.4 runs over those games. As for Mt. Carmel, their record now sits at 21-12.
