Basketball Recap: Make It Five in a Row for Maiden

Maiden extended their winning streak to five games thanks to a huge performance from Khiara Culliver. The Maiden Blue Devils strolled past the Lincolnton Wolves with points to spare on Friday, taking the game 57-42 thanks in part to Culliver, who dropped a double-double on 27 points and 20 boards. She is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last 14 games she's played.

Despite the loss, Lincolnton saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Nyla Johnson posted 14 points. Another player making a difference was Curmiya Tillman, who scored eight points.

Maiden has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine games, which provided a nice bump to their 14-2 record this season. As for Lincolnton, they dropped their record down to 8-7 with the defeat, which was their fourth straight at home.

Maiden has already played their next contest, a 61-50 victory against Newton-Conover on the 21st. As for Lincolnton, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 56-22 win against West Lincoln on the 21st.
