Baseball Recap: Bear River Takes a Loss

Bear River kicked off their season on the road on Friday and hit a couple of potholes. They lost 10-4 to the Maple Mountain Golden Eagles. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Bears of the 12-9 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in March of 2024.

Thomas Summers was cooking despite his team's loss, going 1-for-3 with one triple, two RBI, and one run. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in April of 2024.

The win was the tenth in a row (dating back to last season) for Maple Mountain, bringing their record for this year to 3-0.

Looking ahead, Bear River is packing up and heading out on the road for their first away game this season: they will face off against Dixie at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Maple Mountain, they will be taking part in a tournament against Box Elder at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday.
