Pojoaque Valley skates past Socorro with ease

There's no place like home for the Pojoaque Valley Elks/Elkettes, who bounced back after a tough loss on the road on Tuesday. They blew past Socorro 51-12 at home. The contest was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 29-5.
Lauren Salazar was the offensive standout of the match as she scored 12 points along with 7 rebounds and 6 steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Marianna Romero, who scored 8 points along with 7 steals and 5 rebounds.
Pojoaque Valley now has a winning record of 3-2. As for Socorro, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-5.
Pojoaque Valley will head out on the road to face off against Bloomfield at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Bloomfield will be coming into the match with an undefeated record on the line. As for Socorro, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Belen at 6:30 p.m. Belen presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Socorro in New Mexico (Belen is ranked sixth, while Socorro is ranked 56th).
