Baseball Recap: Columbia Comes Up Short

Friday just wasn't the day for Columbia's offense. They might be feeling deja-vu: they lost 15-0 to the Clinton Red Devils, which was the same score (and result) they got the week prior. The loss continues a trend for the Capitals in their meetings with the Red Devils: they've now lost four in a row.

Columbia's defeat dropped their record down to 0-7. As for Clinton, the win was the sixth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 6-1.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming matchups. Columbia will face off against Eau Claire at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Shamrocks have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 11 runs per game on average), something the Capitals will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Clinton, they will head out on the road to face off against Newberry at 6:30 p.m. on Monday.
