Softball Recap: Holy Name Now 6-1 over Last Seven Games

Holy Name barely beat Beaumont School the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Green Wave's pitcher stepped up to hand the Blue Streaks a 10-0 shutout on Wednesday. The Green Wave might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five games by ten runs or more this season.

Holy Name got a massive performance out of Bailey Garlow, who fired off two home runs and four RBI while going 2-for-2. Those two home runs gave Garlow a new career-high. Maura Mihalik was another key player, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two stolen bases, three runs, and two RBI.

Holy Name was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .375. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Beaumont School only posted a batting average of .000.

Holy Name has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-3 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 4.0 runs on average over those games. As for Beaumont School, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-9.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Holy Name will face off against Norton at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Panthers have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 7.12 runs per game on average), something the Green Wave will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Beaumont School, they will head out to take on Notre Dame-Cathedral Latin at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The Lions will roll in looking for their eighth straight victory, something the Blue Streaks surely won't give up without a fight.
