Basketball Recap: Wren Finds Playoff Glory Versus Greer

With a playoff win on the line, Wren rose to the challenge on Tuesday. Everything went their way against the Greer Yellow Jackets as they made off with a 79-59 victory. For the Hurricanes, this counts as revenge for the 49-42 win the Yellow Jackets walked away with the last time they faced one another back in February of 2018.

Wren's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Abijah Franklin led the charge by going 12-for-17 to rack up 29 points along with eight rebounds and four steals. Franklin's evening made it 27 games in a row in which he has scored at least 15 points. Brock Cherry was another key player, shooting 54% from the field en route to 25 points and seven boards.

Wren has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 14 of their last 15 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 25-4 record this season. With the defeat, Greer broke their ten-game winning streak and moved their record to 21-8.

Wren wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 61-57 loss against Lancaster on the 3rd. Greer does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
