Softball Recap: Plainfield North Comes Up Short

If Plainfield North was riding high fresh off their 17-1 takedown of Bolingbrook on Wednesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Tigers came up short against the Yorkville Foxes on Thursday, falling 13-4. The Tigers were not able to make up for their defeat to the Foxes from their previous meeting back in May of 2024.

Plainfield North has also traveled a rocky road recently, having lost five of their last six contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-13 record this season. Those losses can't be blamed on the team's hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 6.7 runs over those games. As for Yorkville, the win snapped their losing streak at three games and leaves them with a 9-7 record.

Looking ahead, Plainfield North will challenge Benet Academy at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Yorkville, they will face off against Bradley-Bourbonnais at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday.
