Baseball Recap: Batesburg-Leesville Picks Up Third Consecutive Win

Batesburg-Leesville won against Strom Thurmond last Tuesday with six runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Friday. Batesburg-Leesville came out on top against Strom Thurmond by a score of 6-1. Winning may never get old, but the Panthers sure are getting used to it with their third in a row.

Gavin Parrish was excellent, scoring a run while going 2-for-3. John Sawyer was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two RBI and one double.

Batesburg-Leesville's win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 7-1-1. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.3 runs over those games. As for Strom Thurmond, they are on a six-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-5.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. A feisty cat fight will be fought as Batesburg-Leesville Panthers duke it out with Ninety Six Wildcats at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Strom Thurmond, they will venture away from home to take on American Leadership Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Strom Thurmond's pitchers better be ready for this one: American Leadership Academy has averaged an impressive 6.2 runs per game this season.
