T.W. Andrews is 0-6 against Walkertown since March of 2022 but things could change on Tuesday. The T.W. Andrews Red Raiders are taking a road trip to take on the Walkertown Wolfpack at 5:30 p.m. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.
T.W. Andrews is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They were the clear victor by a 20-6 margin over Parkland on Monday. The victory was a breath of fresh air for the Red Raiders as it put an end to their five-game losing streak dating back to last season.
Meanwhile, Walkertown came tearing into Monday's matchup with four straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 13.8 runs), and they left with even more momentum. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Lions a 24-0 shutout. While the Wolfpack didn't have the best season last year (they finished 9-13), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.
David Olmedo was a major factor no matter where he played. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out six over four innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two hits in four consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, scoring three runs and stealing a base while going 1-for-5.
In other batting news, Walkertown got a massive performance out of Dakota Larimore, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI. Larimore also put up a triple, which was his first of the season. Another player making a difference was Caden Joyce, who scored three runs and stole a base while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances.
Walkertown always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .651. The last time their OBP was this high was back in March of 2024.
Walkertown's win was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 6-1. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.5 runs on average over those games. As for T.W. Andrews, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-4.
T.W. Andrews might still be hurting after the 19-4 loss they got from Walkertown when the teams last played back in March of 2024. Can T.W. Andrews avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
