Softball Recap: Wiregrass Ranch Picks Up Fourth Consecutive Win

Wiregrass Ranch waltzed into their match on Thursday with three straight wins... but they left with four. They put the hurt on the Academy at the Lakes Wildcats with a sharp 22-4 win. That 18 run margin sets a new team best for the Bulls this season.

Reagan Beagle was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. What's more, she gave up only zero walks, the fewest she's had since back in April of 2024. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with one home run, five RBI, and three runs. The dominant performance gave her a new career-high in runs.

In other batting news, Sophia Estevez was a standout: she went a perfect 2-for-2 with five RBI, three runs, and one triple. She also hit a double, marking her first of the season. Chloe Troupe was another key player, going a perfect 4-for-4 with four runs, three RBI, and one triple.

Wiregrass Ranch always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .742. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Wiregrass Ranch's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 4-1. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.0 runs over those games. As for Academy at the Lakes, they are on a four-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-3.

Coming up, Wiregrass Ranch will face off against Cypress Creek at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Cypress Creek is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 9 runs per game this season. As for Academy at the Lakes, they will look to take advantage of their home field for the first time this season as they take on Anclote at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Anclote has struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 19.5 runs per game on average), something Academy at the Lakes will no doubt try to take advantage of.
