Mountain View and Homestead are an even 5-5 against one another since April of 2019, but likely not for long. The Spartans will venture away from home to take on the Mustangs at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Mountain View is coming into the contest hot, having won their last three games.

Mountain View is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They were the clear victors by a 13-4 margin over Wilcox on Thursday.

Allison Marcelino made a splash no matter where she played. She struck out seven batters over seven innings while giving up three earned (and one unearned) runs off nine hits. Marcelino was also big at the plate, going 4-for-5 with three RBI and one double. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in May of 2024.

In other batting news, Gianna Serpa was excellent, going 2-for-3 with two runs and two RBI. Those two hits gave her a new career-high. Naila Rocha also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.

Mountain View was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .500. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Wilcox only posted a batting average of .300.

Homestead hadn't beaten Wilcox on the road since April 2, 2022 but that history sure didn't bother them on Tuesday. The Mustangs walked away with a 7-2 win over the Chargers.

Mackenzie Smith spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and one unearned) run on six hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Cierra Hagan and Mansi Patwardhan did most of the damage at the plate: Hagan went 2-for-4 with four RBI and two doubles, while Patwardhan went a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs, one double, and one RBI. Leela Menon was another key player, going 2-for-5 with two runs, one double, and one RBI.

Homestead has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-4 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.5 runs over those games.
