Baseball Recap: Stafford Comes Up Short

Stafford extended their losing streak to five on Saturday, dropping their season record down to 6-10 in the process. They came up short against the Coventry Patriots, falling 10-3. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Bulldogs of the 3-0 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in May of 2024.

Stafford saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Mason Leone, who went 2-for-3 with one run and one RBI. That run marked the first that Leone has scored this season.

As for Coventry, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 9-6. The result was nothing new for the Patriots, who have now won six matchups by six runs or more so far this season.

On Coventry's side, Collin Harrington made a splash while hitting and pitching. He tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. Harrington was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.

In other batting news, Dominic Deangelis was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run. He has been hot, having posted at least one stolen base the last five times he's played. Another player making a difference was Matteo Albano, who went 1-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

Looking ahead, Stafford will head out to take on Canton at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Coventry, they will host Lyman Memorial at 4:00 p.m. on Monday.
