Volleyball Recap: Lighthouse Christian Academy Takes a Loss

Lighthouse Christian Academy and Shakamak squared off in some playoff action on Tuesday, but Lighthouse Christian Academy had to settle for second. They took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Lakers. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Lakers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-0 back in September.

Despite the loss, Lighthouse Christian Academy still got an impressive performance from Miriam Gilbert, who had 20 digs and two aces. Gilbert has been hot recently, having posted 15 or more digs the last three times she's played.

Shakamak can attribute much of their success to Chloe Holler, who had 17 digs. Those 17 digs gave Holler a new career-high.

Lighthouse Christian Academy's loss dropped their record down to 19-8. As for Shakamak, they are on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 12 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 20-7 record this season.

Lighthouse Christian Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Shakamak, they will challenge Clay City at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday.
