Basketball Recap: Dwight Morrow Comes Up Short

Dwight Morrow was the 72-47 winner over Cliffside Park when they last played one another back in January, but their luck changed this time around. The Dwight Morrow Maroon Raiders took a 69-62 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Cliffside Park Raiders on Tuesday. The Maroon Raiders have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Cliffside Park to victory, but perhaps none more so than Thomas Calabrese, who posted 30 points in addition to eight boards and six assists. Calabrese's evening made it six games in a row in which he has scored at least 15 points. Another player making a difference was Jamil Gonzalez, who scored 21 points along with six rebounds and five assists.

Dwight Morrow's loss was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 5-1 and their overall record down to 10-10. As for Cliffside Park, their win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 10-9.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Dwight Morrow will face off against Dumont at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. One thing working in Dwight Morrow's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last 13 games. As for Cliffside Park, they will look to defend their home court on Thursday against Fort Lee at 7:00 p.m.
