Softball Recap: The First Academy Takes a Tough Playoff Loss

The First Academy and Montverde Academy squared off in some playoff action on Wednesday, but The First Academy had to settle for second. They came up short against the Eagles, falling 14-0. The Royals have struggled against the Eagles recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive lost meeting.

The First Academy saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Lily Bissonnette, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one triple.

The First Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 10-14. As for Montverde Academy, the victory (which was their tenth in a row) raised their record to 26-2.

The First Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Montverde Academy, they will take on Cornerstone Charter Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Eagles' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Ducks have averaged an impressive 7.3 runs per game this season.
